Dominic Calvert-Lewin has taken to social media to send Everton fans a five-word message following the brilliant win for the Toffees at the Amex Stadium last night.

Sean Dyche’s side faced a tricky trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, with the Seagulls chasing European football, but Everton returned to Merseyside with a vital three points and a comprehensive 5-1 victory.

Indeed, though he did not score, the presence of the England forward up front offered Everton a focal point in attack, and the 26-year-old has now posted via his social media to ‘keep believing’ as the final weeks of the season gather pace.

Posting via Twitter and Instagram, DCL said: “Warrior spirit, keep believing toffees!”

No doubt last night’s demolition of Roberto de Zerbi’s side will indeed allow Everton fans to keep believing, as the win lifts the Blues out of the bottom three.

Picking up an assist for Abdoulaye Doucoure’s opener just 34 seconds into the game, Calvert-Lewin was too much to handle for the Brighton defence and has shown in recent weeks just what Everton have missed throughout the season.

Few would have predicted such a score ahead of kick-off, and even the most optimistic Everton fan may not have even anticipated a win, but it was without doubt the finest team performance of the season.

Originally lifting the Blues to 16th place in the table, Nottingham Forest’s victory over Southampton knocked Everton back down into 17th position, though ending the day outside of the relegation zone will be an enormous boost for Sean Dyche’s side.

With impressive individual displays all over the pitch and a superb work ethic throughout, last night’s 5-1 win for Everton should now be a springboard to get out of the current predicament.
