The 30-year-old started behind the striker in a 4-4-1-1 formation.

The £120,000-a-week (SalarySport) midfielder found the back of the net in the sixth minute with a superbly taken half-volley.

And, as you can see below, Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was impressed with Doucoure.

Against Brentford, the midfielder took two shots, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 81.8%, won two headers, took 59 touches, made one interception and one clearance, and put in two crosses.

Doucoure was really very good for Everton against Brentford.

In our view, Abdoulaye Doucoure is a very important player for Everton and will be crucial in the Toffees’ quest to escape the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.

Yes, Everton may have won against Brentford on Saturday, but they are still very much in danger of going down.

We think that Sean Dyche’s side will be among the sides fighting for survival in the Premier League in the final weeks of the season.

Doucoure is at the top of his game at the moment, and he will have to do his job for Everton.

The midfielder has made 219 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Doucoure has scored 28 goals and given 20 assists in those games.
