Everton are now closing in on their third signing of the summer transfer window with the deal set to be wrapped up soon.

It has certainly been a difficult few days down at Goodison Park with Everton having seen their proposed takeover collapse once again.

The Friedkin Group pulled out of the running late last week as the team were away in Ireland to face Sligo Rovers in a friendly game.

Sean Dyche will, however, be relatively pleased with what has been going on behind the scenes when it comes to transfers with players coming both in and out on Merseyside.

And it seems as if signing number three is now set to be concluded over the coming hours.

Everton set to conclude signing number three of the summer

Departures has been a big part of Everton’s summer window with the Blues forced to sell last month to meet the PSR deadline.

But, more recently, the Toffees have also waved goodbye to Amadou Onana who left for Aston Villa in a £50m deal.

Bringing in a big chunk of change like that will, however, provide Everton with some freedom to spend despite their ongoing takeover debacle.

It has already been suggested by Alan Myers that Everton are in a solid financial spot for the short-term and they look set to prove that with a third signing.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton are set to seal the deal with Napoli to sign Jesper Lindstrom.

Documents are expected to be exchanged later today with the Danish winger joining on an initial loan deal for the 2024/25 campaign.

However, Everton will have the option to buy the player next summer if they like what they see for a fee around £17m.

Everton providing Sean Dyche the tools to progress

The 2024/25 campaign was a turbulent one for the Toffees which was not helped by what went on off the pitch.

Being deducted points and seeing no breakthrough in their takeover bid will have been a real blow to all surrounding the club.

However, Everton ended the season strongly and showed that they were capable of more than just a relegation battle.

And, despite the ongoing uncertainties, Everton are providing Dyche with what he needs this summer to really go out and show some progression on the pitch this season.
