Everton welcome fierce rivals Liverpool to Goodison Park this evening for one last showdown before moving to the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

Everton head into the game off the back of three straight victories in the Premier League, though, they did suffer a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the FA Cup.

Liverpool were also dumped out of the FA Cup after a shock 1-0 loss to Championship outfit Plymouth Argyle.

However, Opta’s supercomputer has still predicted a Liverpool win for the table toppers, who have the chance to extend their gap to nine points on second-placed Arsenal.

David Moyes has been speaking to the media ahead of the Merseyside derby and shared his honest thoughts about Reds boss Arne Slot.

David Moyes hails Arne Slot

Speaking in Tuesday’s press conference, Moyes rather reluctantly heaped praise on Slot and noted how well he’d done since arriving from Feyenoord.

“They had a fantastic coach in Jurgen Klopp who made Liverpool so good for so many years,” the 61-year-old said.

“You saw how often they were competing with Manchester City for titles and cups. I think most people will be amazed at just how well Arne Slot has done coming in after Jurgen.

“He’s done a great job, which is hard to say when you’re sitting in this seat, but he’s done a great job. He’s done it very smoothly and he has got the team playing well.”

Duncan Ferguson predicts Everton to beat Liverpool

Former Everton striker Duncan Ferguson sat down with Jamie Carragher this week and previewed the crunch clash.

Ferguson has tipped the Toffees to win whilst Carragher did admit this is the ultimate test for Slot’s ‘calmer’ Liverpool side.

“For me, it is the ultimate test of Arne Slot’s new “calmer Liverpool”. They have dealt with many challenges this season, but an evening game at Goodison Park is something else.”

They came unstuck against Plymouth, whose crowd generated a vociferous atmosphere, so perhaps Everton could sink them once again on the road.
