Everton have a big rebuild on their hands, with several first-team players out of contract at the end of the season.
David Moyes will be forced into a major squad overhaul, which he admits isn’t really what he would’ve liked to do.
“So it’s an unprecedented situation I see when I’ve come in,” Moyes explained. “Do I really want a huge overhaul? Probably not.
“I think it’s too big a task to try and get it all done at once. But we’ll try and do our best to get ourselves better and hopefully move up the table.”
Everton have a lot of work to do and will have to dip into the free agent market to ensure they’re able to maximise their budget.
With that said, they can shock us all by signing a World Cup-winning striker who’s actually attainable.

Everton must go all out to sign Thomas Muller
Everton are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, with a centre-forward top of Moyes’ list of priorities.
Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap has been linked to Everton, whilst there have been rumours about Lazio’s Taty Castellanos.
The Toffees should seriously consider signing Bayern Munich and Germany international Thomas Muller, who is set to become a free agent.
Muller has netted a whopping 335 goals during his career, with the World Cup and Champions League among his many honours.
The 35-year-old has already confirmed he wants to continue playing football, with no plans to retire.
“I’ll take my time, I don’t have any stress, but I still want to continue playing football,” Muller said. “I have a list that I’m working through. The overall package has to fit. For today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, I know exactly what I’m up to. For after that, it’s actually still written in the stars.”
Muller has previously said he wants to play in the Premier League
Muller was asked in 2023 whether he’d rather play in La Liga or the Premier League and interestingly, he selected the latter, which will certainly give Everton the upper hand in any forthcoming talks.
“In the Premier League because I’m interested to know how it is to play that much games and also when you have five or six teams fighting to win the league, so it would be interesting.”
Muller, at this stage of his career, likely wouldn’t get a move to one of the top six clubs, but Everton would be the perfect destination as they could mount a European charge next term, if the summer goes to plan.
The versatile forward has a lot left to offer as he still managed to register a very commendable 12 goal contributions for the German giants this season.
