Everton have hardly built any grand plans for the future in this, one of the quietest January windows in recent history.
Although deals have been few and far between, perhaps most alarming has been the lack of actual reports, with there seemingly being no activity at all for outlets to release.
The Premier League’s harsh reaction to the Toffees’ transgressions has sent shockwaves throughout their institution, clearly.
And yet, Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell do remain vigilant, even if they are nowhere near any new deals as far as we are aware.
That being said, a fresh report has emerged that could offer a glimmer of hope.
Who could Everton sign this January?
It is highly likely that Everton will have to sell before they can buy.
As a practice they are all too familiar with, this window could mark a hugely transformative one should they seek to rearrange the club and trade in some older stars for the next generation.

That trade might just come at Abdoulaye Doucoure’s expense though, with the 31-year-old having already been linked with a Saudi Arabian exit.
This has also coincided with the latest report from German outlet Bild, who detail interest in FC Nurnberg marksman Can Uzun.
The Turkish 18-year-old has been lighting up the German second tier this season, and boasts a goal record that could have Dyche salivating as his side seeks to conquer the second half of the Premier League campaign.
Who is Can Uzun?
It should come as no surprise that Everton are seeking to develop the next generation of superstars rather than buy them ready-made. Their well-documented financial issues have left them scrounging for years now. But that does not mean that the level of transfer has decreased.
The likes of Dwight McNeil and James Garner represented young stars who were perhaps undervalued in the market, and this is where Everton must thrive to continue building towards a more sustainable future.
Uzun represents another step in the right direction, should they complete the signing, with the teenage forward having already scored eight goals and assisted a further three in the 2.Bundesliga this term already.
Shockingly, he actually boasts more goals and assists across all competitions combined than the potentially outbound Doucoure (14 vs seven), suggesting his vacancy could be instantly filled by a young ace with the potential to grow into a superstar for the next decade, or leave for a huge fee in the future.

This bargain price mentioned should be the big selling point for Thelwell, seeking to snap up another deal under the noses of better-placed clubs.
