Everton fans have not had the most amicable relationship with Anthony Gordon since his move to Newcastle United.
After all, the manner of his Merseyside departure was rather acrimonious, leaving the club at its lowest point and never really offering any form of remorse or apology.
So, the club in turn reacted poorly to his exit, and the stunningly short statement revealing his departure spoke volumes.
Ever since then, every battle between the Toffees and the Magpies has been a hugely charged affair, with this 23-year-old winger at the forefront.
Everton fans are all saying the same thing about Anthony Gordon
However, his latest comments are only set to fan the flames of this rivalry and hatred further, as he gave a rather shocking answer when asked what he thought the best atmosphere in England was.
‘Yeah, other than St James’ it’s Anfield by far. I think because I’m from the city I grew up watching it, but I just think before they game when they sing You’ll Never Walk Alone… It’s top. It’s top-level,’ he claimed, a statement certain to frustrate Evertonians…
One fan would question Gordon’s need to continue provoking his former club: ‘Why does he have such a gripe with Everton? I get it you can have issues with the manager/management/team mates during your time but to hate on a club so much is weird.’
Meanwhile, another simply suggested he had not yet moved on from Goodison Park, writing: ‘He’s obsessed with us.’
Evertonians need to just ignore Anthony Gordon
It was clear from the second he pulled on a Newcastle United jersey that he no longer cared about Everton.
That was a notion only reinforced when he returned to Goodison Park just three months after his exit, made a brief and uninspiring cameo from the bench, and celebrated wildly in the tunnel afterwards.

He wanted to beat the club that had given him everything so badly, despite them being in the depths of a scrap to stay in the Premier League.
From that point forward, Evertonians should have given him no time of day.
This latest comment, as expressed earlier, seems so inflammatory given he grew up on Goodison Park.
‘Once I heard the crowd, I was getting goosebumps. It felt like I was in heaven. I just want more and more and I want to keep playing and keep getting better,’ he once said of the Old Lady.
‘The crowd was the best I’ve ever been a part of.’

Whilst that was some time ago, it highlights the ever-changing nature of football, and how his answer would likely change were he to move to Manchester United, or Real Madrid, for example.
His relationship with Everton is completely severed, of his own volition.
