Everton suffered a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday evening at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in what was a pretty tight game.
David Moyes’ side were without key players due to injuries and AFCON, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye the notable absentees.
Despite that, Everton were competitive against the league leaders but ultimately lacked prowess going forward.
What was to blame for Everton’s loss to Arsenal? 🫣
Moyes was very reluctant to turn to the substitutes’ bench, so Tyler Dibling only got 15 minutes to make an impact.
With that said, here is what Toffees supporters had to say about Dibling’s performance against the Gunners.

Everton fans not impressed by Tyler Dibling’s cameo vs Arsenal
Moyes’ team selection wasn’t very inspiring as many were frustrated that Dwight McNeil started over Dibling.
McNeil was completely ineffective and came off for Dibling in the 75th minute, although the teenager wasn’t much better.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Everton fans gave their verdict on Dibling’s cameo.
@LeeButler9 admitted: “Dibling can’t complain when he gets minutes looks like he can’t be arsed.”
“It’s fair to say Dibling hasn’t had enough gametime this season, while also saying he has done absolutely nothing when he does play to suggest he looks sharp enough,” @PatricRidge posted.
If you’re David Moyes, what are you saying to Jake O’Brien after THAT? 😡
“From what I’ve seen of Tyler Dibling, I feel that his characteristics are not adaptable to Moyes’ system and that’s why he hasn’t had enough playing minutes this season,” @AAGodu commented.
@benadamsss5 said: “I hope David Moyes is happy that he’s ruined one of England’s brightest young players in Tyler Dibling. Didn’t even take him 6 months, surely a new record.”
@lukeWilko1878 still thinks he needs to start: “If you’re not going to give Dibling a start Vs Burnley next I’m not sure when he’s ever going to get a start.”
@Wolf277Wolf agreed with that sentiment: “He has to give Dibling a chance and start him, he needs game time and a chance to settle in and he’s not getting it.”
Tyler Dibling should be given another chance vs Burnley
Whilst Dibling didn’t look great when he came on, he should still be given a chance from the first whistle against Burnley.
Perhaps the 19-year-old needs a run of games to get up to speed and into a rhythm, which is the approach Moyes has gone for with Thierno Barry.
It’s clear to see McNeil isn’t going to be the answer during this period whilst Ndiaye is away, so it makes sense to nurture and develop Dibling, who clearly has much higher potential.
Dibling has been impressing coaches around Finch Farm this season, so he’s evidently got the ability to push on and become a top Premier League player.
The Toffees return to action after Christmas, with a trip to Turf Moor on the 27th of December.
