Everton picked up a valuable point on the road on Saturday as they held Arsenal to a goalless draw at the Emirates.

Sean Dyche’s men had to soak up a lot of Arsenal pressure but in the end, they stood really resolutely and were fully deserving of the point.

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz praised Everton’s solidity in the box as the hosts were reduced to just one big chance on the statistics.

Ashley Young earned plaudits for his impressive performance whilst Gary Lineker singled out Jordan Pickford for his five-save display.

Everton fans also made their opinions about Armando Broja known, as they took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to react to his cameo off the bench.

Armando Broja replaced Dominic Calvert-Lewin shortly after the hour mark and Everton fans were really impressed with his cameo appearance.

@_TheEvertonIAN explained: “Whilst I felt sorry for DCL yesterday, I was certainly less so when Broja came on. Dyche didn’t change the set-up with the subs but he just showed so much more and allowed/encouraged the midfield to get up. He needs to start now for me.”

“Broja earned his wages from us for that dogwork in the last 10,” @rhystakes said.
