Everton ended the season with a 1-0 win against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Victory for David Moyes‘ men moves them up to 48 points, which is a whopping 23 points above the relegation zone.
Moyes has done a fantastic job since taking over from Sean Dyche in January and now will enter what’s expected to be an unprecedented summer window for Everton.
There’s a lot of work to do with several first-teamers out of contract, including today’s matchwinner Carlos Alcaraz.
Everton fans are now all saying the same thing about Alcaraz, who has a buy option in his loan deal.

Everton fans urge David Moyes to sign Carlos Alcaraz on a permanent deal
Everton fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, urging Moyes to sign Alcaraz on a permanent deal after his match-winning header.
“Resign the lad. His motor never seems to stop….AND Charly as well… exercise his loan option…3 goals in his short time here. I believe McNeil, Gueye and Alcaraz can make a fine midfield,” @EddieGerla32603 said.
@FollowEverton added: “Loved Alcaraz in the Tim Cahill role. Get him signed up he is an important squad player for next season.”
“If we don’t sign Charly Alcaraz, it will be one of the biggest mistakes we’ve made in my lifetime,” @Stylo_____ explained.
“Finished the season very positive and should be a good summer with hopefully some quality players to be added. Really hope that we confirm Gana is staying and Alcaraz is coming on a permanent deal,” @dazrx8 commented.
“Alcaraz Has to be at Hill Dickinson next season,” @FatWeightlifter said.
@TacticallyMatt interestingly pointed out: “Charly Alcaraz ends the season with five Premier League G/A’s. Ranks him fourth in the squad, behind Iliman Ndiaye, Beto, and Dwight McNeil. Just SEVEN starts. 770-ish minutes.”
Alcaraz wants to stay at Everton
Alcaraz, who is believed to have a £15m clause in his loan deal, wants to sign for the Toffees on a permanent deal from Flamengo.
“According to what I found out from the agent, the tendency is for him to be bought by Everton. Alcaraz wants to stay and is happy at Everton. Let’s see if the English team can reach an agreement,” said a journalist from Bolavip.
The 2002-born midfielder played in a more advanced role today, and as one fan alluded to, it was a Tim Cahill-like display.
Moyes is in the market for an attacking midfielder, and Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer has been linked with a move to Goodison Park, but perhaps they already have that profile in the shape of Alcaraz.
