Everton need attacking reinforcements this summer transfer window.

David Moyes has been able to turn Everton’s fortunes around since returning, but the lack of goals has continued to plague their progress.

So the Toffees are expected to overhaul their attacking ranks, and Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is high up on Moyes’ list.

Liverpool winger Ben Doak is also being linked to Goodison Park, with Moyes the one driving that deal, which could cost as much as £30m.

Everton fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to the Doak rumour.

Everton fans don’t want Liverpool winger Ben Doak

Toffees supporters have a lot to say about the link to Doak, with many agreeing that a £30m deal would be a poor use of finances.

@LeonCummings1 posted: “£30m, no chance we go for him at that money. Liverpool believe all their unknown quantity players are £30m & some clubs are stupid enough to pay it. Name the last LFC youth player sold that went on to big things?!”

“30 million for a player who has hardly played a premiership game haha,” @MarkMcD20131944 commented.

“Fellows is better value for money,” @daleclarke1980 said.

@strong231977 added: “£30m, they’re having a laugh with that valuation.”

“Would be an absolute disaster,” @Nathan_Astbury posted.

“I hope he’s way down on the club’s list; especially at the rumoured price, which seems excessive,” @WayneSmyth6 explained.

Doak stats 2024/25

Doak spent last season on loan at Championship promotion-hopefuls Middlesbrough, who ultimately fell short of the play-offs.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a productive campaign up until his hamstring injury in January, which ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

Doak registered 10 goal involvements for Boro, predominantly plying his trade as a right winger, so he’d come in to replace Jack Harrison at Everton.

The Toffees could certainly do a lot worse than Doak, but they have to ensure the price is right, otherwise, there are better value for money options out there.
