Everton fans, and many rival fans fact, are all saying the same thing about Dwight McNeil after last night’s 2-0 win against Liverpool.
Sean Dyche watched his side frustrate fantastically at Goodison Park, yet maintain an air of proficiency which they have lacked all season.
It was mesmeric to watch them take their two chances with aplomb, and even then they could have had more as they threatened from almost every single set piece they got.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will steal the headlines for his stunning display, whilst Jordan Pickford was immense in between the sticks. But McNeil was arguably the pick of the bunch.

Unsurprisingly, there were few who were not gushing with praise for McNeil after his creative masterclass from the flank.
Often exchanging wings with Jack Harrison, whether it was Trent Alexander-Arnold or Andy Robertson, they could not cope with his trickery and technical prowess.
It was the performance of a seasoned veteran with the physicality of a young superstar, as he held the ball up and calmed things when needed, but used his electric athleticism to drive his side forwards when possible.
Dyche, who has overseen the entire progression of McNeil’s career, will likely have felt a sense of immense pride in watching him dominate a game as big as the Merseyside derby.

A historic performance
This was McNeil’s big chance to back up his stunning strike on Sunday with a performance against one of the Premier League’s top sides.
And back it up he did.
The English winger was relentless in his pressing, refreshingly nasty in his tackling, and pinpoint with his crossing.
It is that latter trait which is understandably garnering the most praise, considering just how often his left-footed deliveries found a man. His corner for Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal was perfect, whipped in with pace and height to leave the goalkeeper stuck as the ball dropped in a position of almighty danger.
To emphasise the quality of his showing, five of his seven crosses found a target, he forged two big chances, struck a shot on target of his own and made a whopping five key passes, via Sofascore.
The complete creative performance, this is not the first time that McNeil has stood up in a relegation battle for Everton and announced his credentials.
Such confidence and poise, to emerge when he is most needed and help make history, has made this one of the club’s shrewdest pieces of business in recent years.
