Everton were well beaten by Newcastle United on Saturday evening at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was the only Everton player who performed well, as he scored one of the goals of the season.
Thierno Barry, this is how you do it…
Everton’s defending was all over the place, which is very unlike David Moyes’, especially considering they were at home.
Supporters had a lot to say about Jack Grealish after the game, with the Manchester City loanee receiving quite a bit of criticism for the first time since joining in the summer transfer window.

Everton fans are becoming underwhelmed by Jack Grealish after Newcastle
Everton supporters took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to point out that Grealish just hasn’t been doing enough of late.
@TheEvertonEnd posted: “Jack Grealish just ain’t it is he?”
“Think he’s been underwhelming for a while tbh but you’re not allowed to say it,” @LordStu1234 replied.
Struggling to think of a worse performance under David Moyes
“Honeymoon period over, luxury player, needs everyone else to be at it to look good. Won’t ever grab a game by the scruff of its neck,” @DavidJWalton1 added.
@Evertxn said: “Grealish assist gimmick is p—— me off. Take a shot mate. Score a goal. He just wants to cross it for someone else in all moments.”
“4 in 2 games. Naff all in next 11. Slows everything down with his ‘must pass to me on the left stood still’ nonsense before passing backwards. 300 grand a week ffs,” @GoldyEfc commented.
@jhoughton1985 noted: “Agreed. He needs to get on the edge and commit more – take on defenders or shoot.”
Jack Grealish’s poor stats vs Newcastle United
Moyes wasn’t happy with Tim Iroegbunam’s performance last night, but the statistics show that Grealish may have been just as bad.
The 30-year-old actually lost the ball a whopping 15 times, which is totally unlike the 39-cap England international.
- 90 minutes
- 54 touches
- 15 possession lost
- 0/5 successful dribbles
- 0 shots
Grealish also failed to even get one shot off, which is starting to become an issue for Everton as they need more goals across the forward line.
Speaking before the Newcastle game in his press conference, Moyes admitted he wanted more goals from his Everton talisman.
“I do (think he can reach another level). I would be lying if I said I am completely happy. I want him to score more goals actually,” the Scotsman explained.
Certainly looks to work on back at Finch Farm ahead of the Bournemouth game.
