Everton were well worth a point against the Premier League leaders Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.
The Toffees had chances to go ahead in the Emirates Stadium clash, but ultimately, they didn’t quite have the finishing touch.
How have we come away from that with nothing? 😫
That’s been a constant issue all season, with Beto and Thierno Barry struggling to deliver on a consistent basis.
With that said, Everton fans are pretty baffled that Tyrique George hasn’t been given a proper opportunity in the side, as he can operate as a number nine.
Supporters gave their thoughts on TalkingPoints and on our Facebook page.

How do you feel about Moyes’ treatment of Tyrique George? 🫣
Everton fans urge David Moyes to give Tyrique George a chance
Replying to the TalkingPoint above, fans criticised Moyes for his treatment of George, as the England under-21 international has played just four minutes of football this month.
The 20-year-old was given one minute off the bench against Arsenal.
- “I think Moyes’ treatment of George is as crazy as his treatment of a 40 million Dibling.. if Dibling can’t get in and Moyes actually bought him and spent the cash, there is not much hope for George.”
- “Moyes hasn’t got a clue with young talent, that’s his massive downfall and always has been.”
- “It’s an issue with the youngsters not being given enough minutes. Rohl, Dibling, George, Charly and Armstrong need games to progress and develop. George… how are we going to make any decision when we haven’t seen him? Also, any young targets we go for are going to think twice about coming if they don’t play. Issue is Moyes will always go for experience over development.”
- “Play him (George) up front, got to be given the opportunity Davey lad.”
- “Loves to buy them and never play them, then they end up wanting to leave after a season or 2.”
- “I would put George up front from now on. But we’ve got Chelsea next game. After that game, you would be my striker.”
With the current centre-forwards failing to deliver, George should be handed a run of starts as the number nine.
George’s England under-21s manager Lee Carsley has previously said he has all the traits to be a striker.
“He’s got the profile and attributes to develop into a traditional number 9,” Carsley stated in October.
“A lot of that development I would imagine will go on at Chelsea. He’s fast. He scores goals. He’s creative. He’s got good technique.”
As one of the supporters referenced above, George won’t be eligible to play next week, as the Toffees host his parent club Chelsea.
But, hopefully Moyes plays the talented youngster a lot more after the international break.
