Everton fans have had to deal with a lot of nonsense over the past season or so when it comes to VAR, and Dermot Gallagher has put himself in the bad books with what he said recently.
Sean Dyche has done well to keep a lid on things after the poor start Everton have made to their Premier League campaign.
The Toffees got the better of Crystal Palace last time out, and actually had a VAR decision go their way after Everton were wrongly affected by a VAR decision against Brighton.
James Tarkowski strangely challenged Jean-Philippe Mateta in the box, which was deemed not to be a penalty by the referee and VAR.
This led to a number of opinions being thrown around, with some believing it was a penalty and some believing the referee got it right.
However, when speaking on Ref Watch, Dermot Gallagher had an opinion that didn’t please Everton fans.

What Dermot Gallagher said about James Tarkowski’s incident on Ref Watch
For those of you who don’t know, Dermot Gallagher is quizzed on incidents that went on with referees and VAR after every matchday on Sky Sports.
The former Premier League referee was asked about the incident involving James Tarkowski this week.
He said this:
“I think he is lucky. He jumps in. He does get some of the ball but the fact he jumps in and gets the man. Tough call but for me, it’s a penalty.”
Everton fans react to Dermot Gallagher’s penalty verdict
These Everton fans, when speaking on X, weren’t very happy with Dermot Gallagher’s verdict.
“Games gone.”, @RSegraw said.
@MartinPeterLew4 wasn’t happy: “Gallagher has no credibility with anybody within football, so his opinion is totally irrelevant. Remember he said last game of the season that Jesus did not handball in the build up to Arsenal’s winner. So just ignore mate, as he is a totally irrelevant.”
@drunkdave79 stated: “It’s obvious Dermot Gallagher has never played football before in his life and anyone else that thinks that is a foul hasn’t played it either or is simply biased against Everton.”
@jkelly0112 mentioned: “Next step is not allowing defenders in the box at all. It’s absolutely ridiculous.”
“Don’t even know why Dermott Gallagher is still on tv, he was useless when he was a ref back in the 60s.”, @HobartNeil said.
@JakeMarsh1 commented: “Not even a conversation to be had.. nonsense.”
“I’ve seen fellow blues says it’s a pen, and I’m just not having it. What’s he meant to do? Let him run through. Wins the ball end of.”, @MovieWormYT exclaimed.
