Jurgen Klopp shocked the footballing world by announcing he’ll be stepping down as Liverpool manager at the end of the season – and this is music to the ears of Everton supporters.
One of the most popular managers in the club’s history, Liverpool fans have been left reeling by Jurgen Klopp’s announcement.
After all, he has led Everton’s rivals through an unprecedented period of success, guiding them to Premier League and Champions League triumphs while stealing the hearts of supporters along the way.
While Liverpool are left saddened, the Toffees will be delighted to see the back of the German having struggled to get the better of him during his nine years at the club.

Everton’s record against Jurgen Klopp
The Merseyside Derby is one of the few fixtures that people look out for in the footballing calendar.
More often than not, though, it’s Liverpool who have stolen the bragging rights in this contest, especially since Klopp arrived in the dugout.
There has been a huge gulf in class between the two sides for years and this is reflected by Everton’s record.
Since Klopp took charge in 2015, the Toffees have won just one of their 19 meetings in all competitions and that solitary victory came in 2021 as the Reds stunned Anfield into silence with goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Everton will hope to repeat that success one last time in Klopp’s final Merseyside Derby in March.
Here’s how Everton fans reacted to the announcement…

At a time when the Reds were reduced to tears, other football supporters saw the funny side by apparent scheduled posts on X by Everton.
The Toffees shared three images of their players training ahead of their FA Cup clash against Luton Town tomorrow and one of those captured Dwight McNeil smiling.
There was also another post that showed James Tarkowski beaming with delight, so this wasn’t just a coincidence.
Reacting to the posts, one supporter wrote: “The players taking the news well. Great to see.”
Another commented: “We know what you’re up to here W’admin”
A third added: “Minutes after Klopp announced he’s leaving Lpool…”
During a period when Everton supporters are being tested by their football club off the field, Klopp’s announcement has sparked a little bit of joy among the fanbase.
The Toffees will hope their joy is increased even further when they take on Luton Town at Goodison Park tomorrow.
