Everton are being mooted with a move to sign Kieran Trippier from Newcastle United.
Kieran Trippier has been on Everton’s radar for some time, and David Moyes could reignite his interest in the former England international after it was announced he would be leaving Newcastle.
How we could do with one of these guys right now! 😫

Trippier’s deal on Tyneside expires at the end of the season, so Everton have the chance to land his signature on a free transfer.
With that said, we decided to ask our TalkingPoints users and our Facebook community whether they think he’d be a good signing.

Everton fans split on potential Kieran Trippier signing
It’s fair to say that Everton fans are pretty divided on the potential addition of Trippier, who turns 36 in September.
Would this be a good signing on a one-year deal? 🤔
Some were all for it, with his European experience a notable plus point, whilst others think he’s way past his best days.
- “On a free?? Definitely, then we might actually have a right back who gets to actually play at right back rather than a centre back at right back. Moyes might actually trust Trippier there.”
- “On a free transfer, 100%, especially if Everton are in Europe. Plus, Trippier’s style suits the way Moyes wants to play.”
- “Absolutely, guy’s a winner and has European experience that (hopefully) Everton will need in their squad.”
- “No, if he’s not good enough/too old for a contract with Newcastle, then the same applies with us.”
- “He’s 35…we really need to be looking forward, not how we’ve been in the past, going forward this is going to be a massive club and back where it should be.”
- “Nope his legs are going and that is his game he’s a runner plus he’s had a few injuries this year, think he’s one we might have to leave alone, but he was quality when he was younger.”
As referenced above, Everton certainly should hold themselves to the same standards as Newcastle, so if Trippier is deemed not good enough there, the same should apply for the Toffees.
Perhaps as a squad player, he would be a good option, but a much younger right-back should be recruited as well.
Arsenal’s Ben White has been linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and so too has Genoa’s Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who represents England at under-21s level.
