Everton fans spot problem in “a lot of areas” across the Hill Dickinson Stadium

There have been 17 games for Everton fans to attend at the Hill Dickinson Stadium so far this season, as supporters get to grips with the departure from Goodison Park.

Transport remains an issue for Everton fans – with some forced to leave the win over Burnley early last time out in order to make it home at a reasonable time.

However, there is another problem bothering Everton supporters which is actually inside the Hill Dickinson Stadium across “a lot of areas” – as fans experience difficulties going to the toilet.

Fans tell Everton to consider changing design of toilets amid long waits

At Goodison Park, the toilets had a ‘trough’ design for the urinals, where several fans could squeeze in and relieve themselves at half-time without having to wait very long.

However, fans sharing their experiences at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on our very own TalkingPoints platform have noticed the ‘trough’ design has been replaced by individual urinals, which are of course only limited to one person at a time and therefore cause large queues to form.

When asked what should be changed at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, one supporter wrote on TalkingPoints: “I think bigger toilets. A lot of areas in the Hill Dickinson have tiny toilets which get really long lines at half-time for example. It’s probably something they can’t change any time soon but it’s an important point to make.”

It certainly is an important point. Another fan posted that it is “impossible to go to the toilet and get a snack” at the interval, claiming it is either “one or the other” given the long queues for the new urinals.

A third fan added: “Definitely the toilets. Whoever designed some of these spaces obviously has never had to go to the loo at half-time at a football match. So much space with so few urinals!”

It was a common complaint across this Discussion Point on TalkingPoints, as another posted: “I don’t remember queuing at Goodison for the loo but h/dick very poor. Not anywhere near big enough and paper towels (always) empty. Need electric drying – after all it’s a football ground not Marks & Spencer.”

Has this £30m upgrade actually made a difference on match days? 📞

There is also a large conversation on The People’s Forum regarding the toilets at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with one supporter on that platform suggesting: “If you removed these (single urinals) and replaced them with the trough type you could fit five people at once rather than 3, almost doubling capacity immediately.”

Clearly, this is a matter The Friedkin Group need to address once the season ends.
