Everton picked up a point against Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.
David Moyes’ side were unfortunate not to win and make it four on the bounce across all competitions, but they just couldn’t take their chances.
Still, Everton remain in sixth place and are yet to concede a goal at the new state-of-the-art Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Fans reckon one player has been ‘reborn’ after he produced another stellar performance against the Villans yesterday.
Here’s what they had to say on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Everton fans so impressed by Michael Keane vs Aston Villa
Keane was set to leave Everton in the summer as his contract was up and he was being linked with a move to Wrexham.
However, Moyes and his chiefs decided to offer the 32-year-old a new contract and he’s certainly repaying their faith this season.
Supporters were blown away by Keane’s performance as they replied to the post below.
@iamevertonfcman commented: “Reborn.. could have had a couple of goals today and defended like a titan.. I’ve been one of his worst critics.”
“Credit where it’s due, he’s stepped in and has kept the defence strong. He’s been one of our better players, good to have him in the squad,” @CrawfordTartan added.
“He was different class today,” @Dane4Blue said.
@RickVNasties noted: “Some headache for Moyes when Branthwaite is fit. Love it.”
“I’ll say it. When Branthwaite comes back, on current form, Tarky sits,” @GOT_TXBill admitted.
Michael Keane stats vs Aston Villa
As evinced by his Sofascore statistics, Keane contributed offensively as well as at the back alongside James Tarkowski.
The former Burnley centre-back hit the woodwork and made one key pass – so he could’ve actually come away with an assist.
- 90 minutes
- 43 touches
- 85% pass completion
- 1 key pass
- 1 hit woodwork
- 5 duels won
- 4 clearances
- 1 tackle
- 1 interception
Jarrad Branthwaite isn’t due to return for another few weeks, but when he does, Moyes has a big decision to make.
Does he drop Keane for Branthwaite or keep him in and make Tarkowski a substitute? Either way, it’s a good selection dilemma for Moyes and his backroom staff to have.
