Everton are making advances in the summer transfer window now that the new financial year has started.

Everton are eyeing Juventus’ Douglas Luiz as they look to fill the void left by Orel Mangala and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

West Ham United are considered the frontrunners at the moment, though, so there is a lot of legwork to do on that deal.

Jack Grealish continues to be linked to the Toffees, with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola ready to sanction his sale.

Now, there is a fresh rumour emerging out of Everton and fans believe he could take them to Europe if he joins.

Everton fans so excited after hearing Johan Bakayoko could join

Everton have opened talks to sign Johan Bakayoko from PSV, with Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig also circling.

Fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to the ambitious potential transfer.

@LJF991 posted: “Passports out the draw if we somehow pull this off.”

“Him and McAtee and we can book the planes now,” @RC021878 added.

@mikeoc77 commented: “That would be a great move.”

@RicharlisonGoa1 said: “Don’t see him joining us but I’d f—— love it if he did.”

“We really miss having a Bakayoko at this club,” @EvertonJimbob admitted.

“Love to sign him,” @Tonyyates1878 posted.

Bakayoko stats 2024/25

Bakayoko is a left-footed right winger and is widely regarded as one of the best wingers in the Netherlands.

The 22-year-old registered 15 goal involvements across all competitions for PSV last term, including a goal against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

The Belgium international is valued at around £17m plus add-ons, which seems like an extremely cheap deal.

That’s likely because his contract expires in 2026, so this summer is the last chance for PSV to cash in for a decent fee.

Adrian Clarke likened Bakayoko to Bukayo Saka back in 2023: “There’s a player on the right wing, their most exciting player and most dangerous player is the right winger. A kid called Johan Bakayoko.

“He’s only 20 (now 22), he’s quick, he’s like Saka, he’s their version of Saka. He plays off the right and is left-footed, so we have to be careful.”
