Everton fans were treated to a gritty performance on Tuesday evening on the road against Bournemouth.
It is not usually a place where Everton fare well, with Tuesday’s win their first in 40 years away to the Cherries.
David Moyes got the response he so desperately wanted from his players following their drubbing against Newcastle United.
Finding consistency in the Premier League has been an issue for the Blues this season.
There were a number of players who really stepped up on the south coast, with Jack Grealish answering Moyes’ demand for more goals.
However, there was one player who a lot of Everton fans came away from the game feeling he had the qualities to become the club’s next captain.

Everton fans think Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is captain material
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall worked well alongside Tim Iroegbunam as he occupied the deeper role in midfield, with James Garner shifted to right-back.
It was a mighty showing from the summer signing, who has gone from strength to strength in recent weeks.
His performance was that good it had a number of Everton fans on social media naming him as the club’s next potential captain.
Taking to X, one fan made this suggestion: ‘Might sound mad saying this, but seeing Dewsbury-Hall before the game motivating each player individually, during the game with his performance and post match comments surrounding mentality/ responding well after Saturday, screams future Everton captain.’
How would you feel about Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall becoming Everton’s next captain? 💪
Wayne Rooney has been so impressed by Dewsbury-Hall since he made the move to Merseyside over the summer.
Another fan was in full agreement, they replied: ‘Said to my dad after the Brighton game he’s a future captain.’ Whilst another Blue said: ‘He wants it, you can feel his passion and leadership a million miles away.’
One Evertonian thought this was a great shout, adding: ‘Nothing mad about that, the man’s a proper baller. He’s just a top footballer. Much prefer him box to box. Really excels.’
Jarrad Branthwaite’s name was thrown into the mix by one Everton fan, who said: ‘Am hoping a certain Mr Branthwaite has something to say bout that. I see it though.’
But there was a real feeling that Dewsbury-Hall was a good candidate, with another fan saying: ‘He’s Peter Reid for the 21st century.’

Dewsbury-Hall would be a better captain than Jarrad Branthwaite
There was one fan who was pushing Branthwaite’s name into the conversation and it is clear why; he is expected to be the future of the club’s defence.
However, availability is going to be key when Moyes, or the next Everton manager, comes to picking his next captain.
Has Dewsbury-Hall just become Everton’s most important player? 🤔
James Tarkowski has performed well as Everton’s captain, but he is now 33-years-old and his time at the top will come to an end soon.
Dewsbury-Hall has not only excelled on the pitch, but also away from it with the way he speaks to the media.
The Friedkin Group have been wowed by Dewsbury-Hall, which is always a good sign when the owners approve of how their summer business panned out.
