Everton have been told they have one ‘massively underrated’ player among their ranks.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Paul Brown has claimed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is one of the ‘best strikers in the Premier League’.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was previously undeniably one of the best in the top flight during a stint that saw him score 29 goals in 69 games.
However, a horrific injury record had left him sidelined for over 300 days since and he had managed only seven goals in the past two seasons.
While it had looked like the forward was set for more misery this time round, Calvert-Lewin seems to have drastically improved his form since breaking his cheekbone in August.
After a brief spell on the bench, the 26-year-old came into the team and scored four goals in only six games. While he hasn’t netted since the win over West Ham last month, he has still had a huge impact on Everton’s recent results.
Paul Brown has now praised Calvert-Lewin and has admitted that fans should be very excited to see him back in form.
“It should be exciting for Everton fans and I hope it continues,” Brown told GIVEMESPORT.

“I’ve been saying for a while that he’s a massively underrated striker and I was kind of expecting him to start proving his worth. I think he is doing that.
“He does look fitter than he has for some time. I think he got some unnecessary stick at times because he just couldn’t keep himself fit. I don’t really think you can criticise Calvert-Lewin for that, he’s been very unlucky with a series of injuries, he’s tried his hardest and he clearly loves the club.
“I just think he’s one of the best strikers in the Premier League and now people are beginning to see it.”
How important is a fully fit Dominic Calvert-Lewin?
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was easily one of the best strikers in the Premier League when he was at his best for Everton and that was made clear by the interest from the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid.
His terrible luck with injuries seemed to make people forget how truly talented he is, but it comes as no surprise that Everton have looked miles better now that he is firing.
Calvert-Lewin’s first goal of the campaign against Brentford kicked off the Toffees upturn in form, with the forward starting the past six games as they beat the likes of Crystal Palace, West Ham and Bournemouth.
Calvert-Lewin’s recent performances should definitely push him for a place in the England squad if he can keep it up, while he is likely to be competing with both Ollie Watkins and Callum Wilson for a place at Euro 2024.
