Everton fans want to see Neal Maupay sold this summer.

Liverpool Echo conducted a survey to 10,000 supporters to see who they would keep and sell during the transfer window, with a whopping 95% of participants hoping to see Maupay leave the club.

The Frenchman came as quite a surprising signing when he moved to Merseyside from Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2022.

Maupay joined on a three-year contract with an option of a further year, though the striker’s time looks to already be up after he only netted one goal in his first season with Everton.

Journalist Paul Brown recently reported that Maupay is also keen to leave Goodison Park after a disastrous year, while links to the likes of Moussa Dembele and Joel Piroe make Maupay’s departure even more likely.

The 26-year-old isn’t the only player Everton fans would like to sell, with Jean-Philippe Gbamin (94.9%), Andre Gomes (86.9%) and Mason Holgate (85%) also on the chopping block.

Everton fans can’t endure another season of Neal Maupay

Neal Maupay split fans during his time at Brighton, so he arrived at Goodison Park with rather low expectations last summer.

It’s fair to say he certainly hasn’t surprised many people and has arguably been one of their worst players in a very poor season.

Everton’s forwards have come under attack on many occasions, with Alan Shearer labelling Maupay ’embarrassing’ despite a win over Leeds United earlier this year.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Shearer said: “They’re so poor in forward positions.

“Just look at their centre forwards there, Maupay and [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin in particular.

“It’s a bit harsh on [Ellis] Simms, but the other two, pretty embarrassing stats those.”

With Maupay also looking to leave, Everton need to offload the forward as soon as they possibly can and replace him with someone much more prolific.
