Everton’s transfer business in recent years has left a lot to be desired.
In fact, part of the reason why Everton fell into PSR issues is the number of big-money signings who’ve just failed to deliver on Merseyside.
Davy Klassen, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Cenk Tosun are just a few examples of failed additions during the Farhad Moshiri tenure.
None of them have really gone on to pull up any trees elsewhere, in fact, Gbamin now plies his trade in the Swiss League.
He set Everton back £25m and made just eight appearances before leaving on a free transfer during the summer of 2023.
Although, not all of the failed signings have continued to underwhelm away from Goodison, as one is now in prolific form at his new club.

Moise Kean scored his 22nd goal of the season at the weekend
When Everton signed Moise Kean from Juventus in 2019, it was seen as a real coup for Marco Silva’s side.
However, Kean just couldn’t find his feet on Merseyside, as he scored only four goals in 39 appearances before leaving on a permanent deal a couple of years ago.
The 25-year-old is now back in Serie A with Fiorentina, where he is really starting to fulfil his early promise.
Kean has established himself as one of the best strikers in Italy, having netted 22 goals in just 36 games, which has got him back into the national team squad.
The former Everton man was again on the scoresheet on the weekend – tapping one home against AC Milan.
Moise Kean could return to Premier League
Kean’s form in Italy isn’t going unnoticed by sides in the Premier League.
It’s been reported that Arsenal have already made contact with Kean’s representatives ahead of a potential summer switch.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on his development as they eye a support striker for Alexander Isak.
Kean is believed to have a £44m release clause in his contract, which is sure to tempt a number of other clubs in England and across the continent.
