Everton have relied heavily on their academy to produce stars over the years.

The likes of Anthony Gordon, Ellis Simms, Thomas Cannon, Lewis Dobbin and Ishe Samuels-Smith have all been sold, having featured in the academy at Everton.

Wayne Rooney is one of the biggest examples of the success that Everton have had with their setup at Finch Farm, as he went on to secure some major achievements in football.

Interestingly, the current Everton squad is lacking academy products, with Roman Dixon one of the only youngsters who has been given the time of day by Sean Dyche this season.

However, there could soon be a new name working his way up the ranks at Finch Farm, as a 16-year-old has been making headlines for his goalscoring ability for the Under-18s.

Justin Clarke has six goals in five games for Everton Under-18s

Everton signed Justin Clarke from League Two side AFC Wimbledon back in September for a six-figure fee and it’s already starting to pay off.

Leighton Baines is in charge of the 18s, so he’ll see first-hand Clarke’s talents. He has scored six goals in just five games this season.

The Everton Under-18s currently sit sixth in the Premier League from seven games, with four wins and three losses.

Everton’s academy on X recently posted a video of the 16-year-old’s goals, as well as stating that he’s averaging a goal every 63 minutes.

Justin Clarke may just be the next academy star

Clarke operates as a forward, with his main strengths being his strength, pace and shooting ability.

He can use either feet and his head, as a well-rounded striker.

It’s still early days, but the signs are certainly positive.

After all, Clarke has already showcased his potential by becoming the Dons’ youngest-ever senior player at just 15 years-old prior to joining.
