It kind of just feels like at the moment Everton need to survive until they can get into the new stadium.
The financial boost that their Bramley-Moore Dock home will provoke is expected to pull them out of the PSR mess they find themselves in.
And that is not just regarding solely the football operations either, as there is a whole host of avenues to explore given how desirable this new arena will be.
Fortunately, the progression of its construction remains consistent, with this latest update detailing the completion of one key external feature.
Bramley-Moore Dock stadium hits construction milestone
This latest update was released just yesterday, and confirmed the completion of the sprawling brickwork which has been creeping up around the outside of the stadium
That orange tinge had been adding a splash of colour to the construction site, but seemed far from finished, yet the official Everton Stadium X account wrote: ‘The last of 731 pre-cast brick panels has now been installed.’
Having revealed that they were ready for installation less than two weeks ago, the speed of their turnaround has been mightily impressive.
It feels like the late-2024 completion date for all the work actually seems a bit gratuitous, and that we could even see it done well before then.
Will Everton’s new stadium be used for concerts?
Whilst it is a football stadium above all else, the Toffees would be foolish not to seek to capitalise on how Tottenham Hotspur have revolutionised the field with their new arena.
After all, not only do they boast one of the world’s best stadiums, with its state-of-the-art design capturing the imagination, but the possibilities it provokes outside of football are endless.
Concerts and other sporting events will almost certainly be held at Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, thus offering yet another fresh and much-needed revenue stream that Goodison Park previously could not.
In fact, the official Everton Stadium writes: ‘While the stadium is first and foremost a football stadium, there will be an opportunity to host other events.
‘This could be anything from outdoor concerts featuring international recording artists and other major sporting events to large conferences and small community meetings.
‘The area set aside for the Fan Plaza, behind the East Stand, and the stepped terrace behind the West Stand, will also both lend themselves to different outdoor year-round uses.’
Clearly designed with that in mind, Liam Gallagher is already one big-name star who has promised to do 20 concerts in the stadium.
