Everton could still sign a highly-rated Serie A defender this summer.
The Toffees are preparing for the fast-approaching Premier League season and were 3-0 victors against Preston North End yesterday.
Despite the loss of Amadou Onana, the squad looks far more balanced and there could yet be further additions.
That said, a bid remains on the table for a promising young full-back.

Everton’s bid for Jackson Tchatchoua remains on the table
Everton News reported on the bid lodged for Hellas Verona wing-back Jackson Thcatchoua last month and an update on that deal has just come to light.
According to Italian outlet Corriere di Verona, Everton have left their bid on the table for the 22-year-old.
Verona are hoping for a bidding war amid interest from Lyon and Rennes, though, the French duo are yet to make an offer.
As such, the Serie A outfit could accept Everton’s bid toward the latter stages of the window if no further offer arrives for their prized asset.
Verona are believed to be after £8.5m plus add-ons, so the gap in valuation isn’t far apart at all.
Jackson Tchatchoua profile
Tchatchoua only joined Verona last summer but he’s already established himself as one of their best players following 26 Serie A appearances.
The 2001-born is extremely versatile – which is an increasingly popular trait nowadays – as he can operate at right-back and on both wing positions.
With that said, if he were to join The Toffees he’d provide great depth in a number of areas, so perhaps that’s why Dyche is eager to land his signature.
In other news, West Ham United signing Crysencio Summerville could be really bad news for Everton.
