The latest Everton injury news ahead of the Toffees’ trip to Burnley with Sean Dyche without four players including Ashley Young, plus the suspended Jarrad Branthwaite.
Referee Michael Oliver added to Dyche’s problems ahead of his first visit to Burnley since he was fired by dealing Everton defender Branthwaite a yellow card against Chelsea. It took the 21-year-old to five for the Premier League season so far and sees him face a one-game ban.
Everton will hope being without six senior players against Burnley does not derail a fantastic run of form. No top-flight team can rival their record this month after wins over Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Chelsea. They last won four times in a row in December 2020.

Everton injury list ahead of visiting Burnley
Dyche has confirmed that Everton’s injury problems are slightly more comfortable ahead of visiting Burnley with three players likely available. But the medical staff at Finch Farm are in the deep end still. So, ahead of Saturday’s game at Burnley, here is Everton’s injury situation.
Michael Keane injury latest
Everton are hopeful of having Michael Keane available at Burnley after missing their win at home to Chelsea through injury. The 30-year-old sat out the 2-0 win after failing to shake a knock to his ankle. But he resumed full training on Thursday and is set to start at Turf Moor.
“Keano has trained today,” Dyche said during his press conference on Thursday. “So, as long as there’s no reaction, he’ll be back in the thinking.”
Expected return: Burnley (December 16)
Vitaliy Mykolenko injury latest
Dyche also confirmed during his press conference ahead of visiting Burnley that Everton feel Vitaliy Mykolenko has avoided an injury. The 24-year-old suffered a ‘niggle’ against Chelsea on Sunday. But the left-back has not shown signs that the problem will tempt any absences.
Expected return: Burnley (December 16)
Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury latest
Everton will also have Dominic Calvert-Lewin available at Burnley after Dyche stated ‘Dom’s fine’ during his pre-match presser. The 26-year-old came off after 67 minutes during the 2-0 win over Chelsea. But he can go in search of his first league goal in six outings on Saturday.
Expected return: Burnley (December 16)
Ashley Young injury latest
But one player who will miss Everton’s trip to Burnley through injury is Ashley Young. Dyche has stated that the 38-year-old has failed to shake the knock he picked up against Chelsea. It will be the first time this term that the wing-back has missed a league fixture with an injury.
Expected return: Tottenham Hotspur (December 23)
Seamus Coleman injury latest
Along with confirming Young’s absence against Burnley, Dyche stated that Seamus Coleman will not be available. The 35-year-old made his return from a knee injury in the Toffees’ win over Newcastle United. But he had to go off 67 minutes into his first senior game since May.
“Youngy and Seamus won’t be right for this one,” Dyche admitted during his pre-game press conference for Everton’s trip to Burnley. “We’re hoping for a quick recovery from them two.”
Expected return: Tottenham Hotspur (December 23)
Andre Gomes injury latest

The Toffees intend to afford Andre Gomes a game with Everton’s academy on Friday night to aid his recovery from a calf injury. Dyche hopes to see the midfielder enjoy a full 90 minutes with their Under-21s. The Blues’ development side will play host to West Bromwich Albion’s.
“Andre, he’s been training with us for a few weeks now,” Dyche noted during his presser. “He needs 90 minutes and we’re hoping he gets that tomorrow.”
Expected return: Wolves (December 30)
Dele Alli injury latest
Dyche has confirmed that Dele Alli is still training with the Everton first-team squad at Finch Farm as he recovers from a groin injury. But the midfielder remains a while away from being match-fit. The Toffees are also mindful of rushing his return and aggravating Dele’s problem.
“Dele’s still on the grass with us,” Dyche said at his pre-game press conference on Thursday. “But [he is] just going back through the motions to get back involved.”
Expected return: Crystal Palace (January 4)
Idrissa Gueye and Jarrad Branthwaite are suspended
Everton will also be without Idrissa Gana Gueye and Jarrad Branthwaite at Burnley while the pair serve their respective suspensions. Both players must sit out the trip to Turf Moor after referee Michael Oliver issued them a yellow card over Everton’s 2-0 win at home to Chelsea.
It was the fifth time this term that both Gueye and Branthwaite have received a yellow card in a Premier League fixture. Gueye had also merited cautions against Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester United and Newcastle United during the Blues’ previous five top-flight matches.
