The latest Everton injury news ahead of the Toffees’ Premier League trip to Tottenham Hotspur, as Sean Dyches provides updates on Seamus Coleman and Vitalii Mykolenko.

Spurs welcome Everton to north London on Saturday as the Blues embark on a tough festive double-header. The Toffees return to Goodison Park to host Manchester City on Wednesday. Dyche’s team will also face the exact same double-header in reverse at the start of February.

Everton will hope they deal Tottenham another blow following Spurs’ recent run of two wins in seven Premier League games. Ange Postecoglou snapped a five-gameg winless streak with wins over Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, both of whom Everton had also beaten.

Everton injury list for their Premier League trip to Tottenham Hotspur

The Toffees are riding a four-game Premier League winning streak down to north London on Saturday. Everton also won each game without conceding a single goal to move seven points clear of the relegation zone. They would be seven points off Spurs without the 10 deducted.

Injury problems in the Everton squad could determine their fate at Tottenham this weekend, however. Dyche will travel to the capital with a depleted team. But the Blues might welcome some stars back at Spurs. So with that in mind, here is the latest injury situation at Everton…

Vitalii Mykolenko injury latest

Dyche confirmed during his pre-match press conference for Everton’s trip to Tottenham that Vitalii Mykolenko is ‘back in the thinking’. The left-back missed the Blues’ 2-0 win at Burnley last Saturday and also their Carabao Cup defeat on penalties to Fulham due to a groin injury.

Mykolenko had started Everton’s previous 12 Premier League games before missing Dyche’s return to Turf Moor. He also registered an assist against Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace. Mykolenko further played 90 minutes in all but one of those top-flight appearances.

Expected return: Tottenham Hotspur (December 23)

Seamus Coleman injury latest

Everton captain Seamus Coleman is ‘touch and go’ to return from a foot injury at Tottenham this weekend. Dyche has confirmed that the 35-year-old is on the fringes of his plans before Saturday’s game. But the right-back needs to prove at Finch Farm that he is ready to return.

“It’s touch and go with Seamus,” Dyche said during his pre-match press conference ahead of Everton’s top-flight trip to Tottenham this Thursday. “He needs a few more days of training.”

Coleman made his long-awaited return from a knee injury at home to Newcastle and played for 67 minutes. But Dyche replaced the Ireland international after he suffered a new issue in the 3-0 win. Coleman developed a foot injury at Goodison that sidelined the defender again.

Expected return: Manchester City (December 27)

Ashley Young injury latest

Dyche doubts Everton will welcome Ashley Young back from the injury he sustained against Chelsea when they visit Tottenham. The 38-year-old suffered a knock in the Toffees’ 2-0 win over Mauricio Pochettino’s squad. He is now making progress but may remain out of action.

“Youngy is making progress but I don’t think he will make this one,” Dyche said on Thursday.

The right-back had started in 15 of Everton’s 16 Premier League games before missing their win at Burnley through injury. Dyche was without their veteran defender against West Ham United in October, as well, while Young served his suspension for the red card at Liverpool.

Expected return: Manchester City (December 27)

Abdoulaye Doucoure injury latest

Dyche confirmed during his pre-match press conference for Everton’s trip to Tottenham that Abdoulaye Doucoure is not ready ‘for this one’. The midfielder has been sidelined since their win at Burnley after sustaining a hamstring injury that demanded a substitution at half-time.

Doucoure is a key part of the Blues’ team and is making ‘good progress’ in his recovery from the injury. But Dyche will not risk the 30-year-old at Tottenham with the visit of Manchester City to follow. Doucoure has scored six goals across his 17 Premier League outings this term.

“We will see,” Dyche also explained on Thursday. “He is making good progress. He is a good healer from what I gather from his past. So, we are hoping it will settle quickly as it is doing.”

Expected return: Manchester City (December 27)

Andre Gomes injury latest

Everton will again be without Andre Gomes away to Tottenham as the midfielder continues to step up his recovery from a calf injury. Dyche has not named the 30-year-old in one of their Premier League squads since the opening day. He was an unused substitute against Fulham.

Expected return: Wolves (December 30)

Dele Alli injury latest

There will be no homecoming for Dele Alli this Saturday as Everton will again be without the former Tottenham midfielder due to his groin injury. The 27-year-old is still yet to feature so far this season due to the surgery. But his return might be on the cards during the New Year.

Expected return: Crystal Palace (January 4)
