Everton are looking to sign a new right-back – and some potentially bad news has emerged for the Toffees over Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Seamus Coleman has officially left Everton as a player now, and it remains to be seen what his next move will be.

If you were Angus Kinnear who would you be going all out for this summer? 💰

But Nathan Patterson could soon follow him out, with David Moyes having clearly not fancied him.

Jake O’Brien is expected to play more in the middle next season, so right-back is most definitely one of the most important positions on the agenda this summer.

The transfer window is not yet open. But there have already been lots of links to new signings.

And Aaron Wan-Bissaka is seemingly a player of interest – but Everton face some tough competition.

Everton face new competition from Fenerbahce

According to Turkish outlet Yeni Asir, there is now competition for Everton for Wan-Bissaka in the form of Fenerbahce.

This is not good news for Everton if Wan-Bissaka is a key target, because there is definitely a big lure with Fenerbahce.

They finished second in the league last season, meaning they stand to play Champions League football next term. They will bid to reach the League Phase of the competition by coming through the qualifiers (starting from the second round).

Fenerbahce apparently want Wan-Bissaka because they are ready to move Nelson Semedo on this summer.

They only signed Semedo last summer after the full-back ran down his contract at Wolves.

But he has not performed to the standard expected and now they want a replacement. Semedo is set to enter the last year of his contract and, seemingly, the club would like to sell for a bit of money while they still can.

One would imagine that plenty of other clubs will be looking to get involved here, with Wan-Bissaka priced relatively cheaply at £10 million.

But at the moment, Fenerbahce’s are the only other club to have been mentioned, potentially making them Everton’s biggest competition.

Ultimately, Fenerbahce are one of the three biggest clubs in Turkey and have a huge following, so Everton may well have a battle on their hands.

Whoever is seen as the long-term solution for the right-back position, Everton have to be ruthless this summer and get that player in.

Are there any players from the relegated clubs you want to see Everton go after this summer? 🤔

This has been a problem for the Toffees for some time now, and it’s high time for the club to bring in a player of serious quality.

Moyes cannot persist with O’Brien there. Yes, he can do a job here and there. But he needs to play in the middle, and his partnership with Branthwaite needs a chance to blossom.

The links to Wan-Bissaka have not exactly blown people away. But £10 million is decent value, and Everton have to elbow aside the competition if they want him.
