Everton ‘keen’ to sign £17m ‘revelation’ who left Sadio Mane ‘really impressed’

Everton’s transfer window links are beginning to heat up and now another striker has been linked with a move to Goodison Park.

Sean Dyche‘s forward options this season have been absolutely woeful managing to score just seven goals in 38 games between them across all competitions.

Both Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are struggling to nail down a place, Dyche has been chopping and changing all season long.

This has resulted in inconsistent attacking output, leaving Abdoulaye Doucoure as the side’s top scorer with six in all competitions.

This is an area in which Dyche is clearly keen to strengthen as there have now been multiple transfer links to strikers over the past few days.

Now, it looks as though Everton are about to battle Premier League rivals for the signature of one of Serie A’s most dangerous forwards.

Everton in the race to sign Boulaye Dia

According to reports in Italy from Cronache di Salerno, it’s a three way race in the Premier League to secure the signature of Boulaye Dia.

Everton are expected to face heavy competition for the striker who has previously been labelled as a ‘revelation‘ at Salernitana.

Competition is thought to be from West Ham United and Wolves with the latter having a long-held interest stretching back to the summer.

It is thought that a fee of at least £17m would be required in order to see the Serie A side part with their star man.

Ofcourse Everton have alternatives in the event a move for Dia proves too expensive or he favours a move elsewhere. This potentially in the form of Lawrence Shankland who has been tipped as a target for the Toffees.

Sadio Mane gives Boulaye Dia seal of approval

Dia is a player who has impressed throughout his career, even before his move to Italy.

Back when he was playing for Reims in France, his Senegal international compatriot Sadio Mane admitted he was impressed by the forward.

“I didn’t know him before,” he explained as reported by Ligue 1 media.

“But since the start of the season I started to follow him, and I’m really impressed by his qualities. I think he won’t stay at Reims forever, believe me!”
