Everton will be under even more intense fiscal scrutiny than ever, following the punishment dealt just 11 days ago.
With seemingly the entire footballing world well aware of their lucrative failures in the transfer market ever since Farhad Moshiri’s emergence, a sanction did not come as a surprise to many.
Even Evertonians would admit that the club deserved lambasting for its conduct, but in a way that did not affect them, the innocent bystanders.
However, the Premier League once again managed to get it spectacularly wrong, and just years after claiming that the fans cannot be punished for the actions of the ownership when six clubs tried to crush English football, they deducted ten points from the Toffees.
Goodison Park was rightfully aggrieved, and will now likely battle the decision at every home game they host.

However, the repercussions this could have for the foreseeable future could be equally damaging, as they must be more measured in the market than ever.
Despite that, TEAMtalk still remain incensed that Everton are one of many clubs ‘keeping tabs’ on Ajax’s Chuba Akpom, who has only just moved to Amsterdam after a blistering few years with Middlesbrough.
How good is Chuba Akpom?
A clinical forward who seemingly just gets better with age, it is unfortunate that Ajax have fallen off so dramatically upon his arrival.
The 28-year-old joined fresh off the back of a campaign in which he had scored 28 Championship goals for Boro, and was expected to translate that kind of form with ease when starring for the Dutch giants.
After all, he left as their ‘goalscoring king’, in the eyes of Sky Sports commentator Gary Weaver.

However, times have been tough for the European royalty, who dropped into the relegation zone as recently as October.
And yet, despite that, the English marksman has done his bit, scoring five in just nine league matches. In fact, that tally surpasses that of anyone within Everton’s dressing room, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure their top scorers in the Premier League with four goals.
Akpom would offer a different dynamic to the former, as a speedy poacher who remains alive in the penalty area. However, to pry him from the side he joined in the summer could prove tricky, despite their interest in a potential outbound loan move.
He is also not the only Englishman abroad that Sean Dyche has shown an interest in.
