Everton have emerged as frontrunners to land the services of Anthony Elanga this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, breaking the story on his Twitter page, Everton are the favourites to sign Manchester United winger, Anthony Elanga, in this transfer window. Talks are set to begin between the Red Devils and the Merseyside outfit.
Were a deal for Elanga to be reached quickly, he would become the Toffees’ second signing of the summer, following the agreement to sign veteran full-back Ashley Young on a free transfer.
Sean Dyche has a big job ahead of him in making Everton more competitive, after the club only scraped Premier League survival by the skin of their teeth last season. Quality additions are very much needed this summer. Elanga’s arrival would certainly strengthen the Toffees’ ailing attacking contingent. Improvements are much-needed in this part of the pitch.

Who is Anthony Elanga?
The Swedish winger is a product of the Manchester United academy. The 21-year-old has made 55 senior appearances for the club, but is behind the likes of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho in the pecking order under Erik ten Hag. Elanga would stand a great chance of getting more starts at Goodison Park.
Whilst Elanga has seen his playing time reduced under ten Hag, the Dutch coach has espoused the attacker’s qualities, saying “his runs behind were good, he was composed on the ball, his pressing was good. His performance today was good…He has big potential. I think he can have a really good position in world football,” as quoted by the club’s official website.
Everton fans will be pleased if he can reach that potential in blue.
