Everton clearly want to keep Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but the forward can be forgiven for wanting to assess his options.
After all, his current deal is running down rapidly, due to expire this summer.
For the club, allowing one of their prized assets to depart for free would mark a horrendous turn of events.
However, for the player, he has all the power.
He has spent eight years at Goodison Park, and been involved in some special matches for the Toffees.

But, form and fitness has not been kind to him in long stints too, meaning his options could be somewhat limited.
Dan Friedkin will surely try and convince him that Merseyside remains the best place for him.
Everton to offer new Dominic Calvert-Lewin contract
Speaking to Everton.News, journalist Graeme Bailey would exclusively reveal that not only to Everton plan to offer Calvert-Lewin a new contract, but they even have a new strategy that they think could convince him to stay.
The reporter claimed: ‘Everton want to try to get him to sign a new deal. They’re hoping that the new money… more so the new future that they’re projecting might persuade him to stay more than anything. It’s not about the money.
‘Obviously he doesn’t want to keep struggling year in year out, as the fans don’t and as the club doesn’t.
‘They’re trying to sell him a new vision and a new promise for the future, because they don’t want to lose him for free.
‘Keeping your good players is a big part of progressing as a club.’
Everton are heavily reliant on Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Although he has not been the most proficient in front of goal in recent years, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has still enjoyed some sparkling seasons in royal blue.
And, even when he is not in regular scoring form, Everton manager Sean Dyche remains hugely reliant on him anyway.
It’s a testament to his quality that he currently sits third on the club’s all-time top scorers in Premier League history list, but across the last four seasons he has managed only 16 goals.

He equalled that tally in just the one campaign prior to this run.
There is a fine finisher in there, but chances are sparse under Dyche’s pragmatic rule. Hopefully, Friedkin can convince him that there is a brighter future for him and the club.
