Everton are interested in signing Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju, but may face competition from West Ham United.

Beto and Thierno Barry have struggled for goals this season, leaving David Moyes to consider further striking additions.

Everton have been linked with Ivan Toney and Joshua Zirkzee, with loan moves in mind for the January transfer window.

Barry impressed Moyes against Fulham, but the Toffees have also eyed up Midtjylland’s Franculino Dju.

West Ham United to rival Everton for Franculino Dju

Everton scouted Franculino in action against Celtic last week, as he found the net in a 3-1 Europa League win.

Midtjylland don’t want to lose Franculino, but his record of 19 goals in 26 games this season is attracting interest.

The Mirror now claim that West Ham United are also keen on signing Franculino in January.

It’s stated that West Ham actually made an ‘informal bid’ for Franculino over the summer, but Midtjylland rejected their offer.

West Ham remain interested in Franculino as Nuno Espirito Santo desperately seeks to add another goalscoring threat.

Como and Villarreal are also understood to be interested, so Franculino seemingly won’t be short of offers in 2026.

Beto could be pushed out by international teammate Franculino

Everton may look to move for Franculino in January, or even at the end of the season if Midtjylland stand firm.

Barry is likely still viewed as a long-term solution in attack, which leaves Beto in danger of being the odd man out, as it’s difficult to imagine Everton carrying three out-and-out centre forwards.

In fact, Beto could find himself being replaced by an international teammate if Everton do snap up Franculino.

Beto and Franculino both represent Guinea-Bissau on the international stage and will be teammates for years to come.

The pair have only played together twice so far, but could form a fine strike pairing for Guinea-Bissau.

The duo could join forces at Everton, but it seems more likely that Franculino would arrive to replace Beto in Moyes’ attacking pecking order.
