Everton and Blackburn have been mentioned plenty of times in the same breath ahead of the summer transfer window.

Several players at Ewood Park have been linked with moves to the Hill Dickinson Stadium – as Everton track Ryan Alebiosu and are also said to have opened talks to sign Balazs Toth.

Now – according to Matteo Moretto – the Toffees are also looking to sign a former Blackburn player in Flavien Enzo Boyomo.

Don’t hold back, let us know who you want gone this summer 👋

Everton monitoring Flavien Enzo Boyomo along with Sunderland and Brighton

The reliable journalist states that Everton are one of four sides currently watching the Cameroon international, with Brighton, Sunderland and Como – managed by Cesc Fabregas – also keen.

Moretto writes that Boyomo recently shone for Osasuna in a 2-1 defeat against Barcelona, winning all of his defensive duels.

The 24-year-old has done well for himself ever since rejecting a contract at Blackburn back in 2020, opting to leave and join Albacete, quickly rising to an impressive level with Osasuna, who currently sit tenth in La Liga.

Everton have already tied Michael Keane down to a new contract, but David Moyes seems keen to bring another central defender in regardless.

The Toffees have been strongly linked to John Stones, so Boyomo may be viewed as an alternative to the England international, who has only managed to make 16 appearances for Manchester City this term due to injuries.

The Osasuna No.22 may also be a target for the sake of easing the workload on Jarrad Branthwaite next season.

As things stand, the Everton No.32 is sidelined with another hamstring injury – which he suffered in the recent Merseyside derby – and there are real concerns about whether he can enjoy a prolonged period of fitness.

Do Everton still need to add a new centre-back this summer? 🤔

Another centre-back arriving such as Boyomo would allow Everton to manage Branthwaite’s minutes, without having to worry about overplaying the England international.
