Everton’s pursuit of a new striker could see Troy Parrott make a move to Merseyside, many years after initial interest.
Everton have struggled for goals from strikers so far this season.
Beto and Thierno Barry have yet to hit top form this season, combining for just one Premier League goal this term.
That means David Moyes could look for another striker in January, with Everton eyeing up Franculino Dju from Midtjylland.
Moyes also fancies Al-Ahli’s Ivan Toney, but Everton have been scouting Troy Parrott ahead of the January window.
Is Troy Parrott the perfect January signing for Everton?
Everton wanted Troy Parrott as a teenager
Parrott enjoyed an incredible international break, scoring five times in just two games for the Republic of Ireland.
The former Tottenham Hotspur talent became Ireland’s hero against Hungary, and his stock has risen enormously as a result.
Parrott has also smashed 13 goals in 14 games for AZ Alkmaar this season, so he is a man in demand.
Everton may move for Parrott in January, and any deal would see him finally make the move to Merseyside.
Extra.ie reported in 2017 that Everton were among the clubs interested in signing Parrott when he played for Belvedere as a teenager.
Everton even asked Parrott to play for the club at Under-14 level, but Spurs won the race for his signature.
Many, many years on, Everton are back in for Parrott and could finally secure his signature after all.
The Irishman may not have lived up to the hype at Tottenham, but he took a step back at AZ in order to take a step forward – and that may come with Everton.

Troy Parrott asking price suggested amid Everton interest
Parrott is on fire this season, and his international form has only added to the buzz around him.
Everton could launch a January move, but Parrott’s form means AZ could demand significant money.
Dutch reporter Valentijn Driessen has been quoted by Voetbal Primeur as saying that AZ could now demand €30million (£26.5million).
AZ’s current record sale is the €25million (£22million) they received from AC Milan for Tijjani Reijnders in 2023.
Parrott’s form could see him rake in an even higher price, but it’s unclear whether Everton would be willing to spend £26.5million on him in January.
