Trabzonspor are working on adding Everton midfielder Andre Gomes to their squad.
According to As Marca, Turkish club Trabzonspor are keen to secure the services of Everton outcast Andre Gomes.
Gomes has been in the wilderness at Everton for some time now. However, the 30-year-old was able to get some valuable regular game time whilst on loan with French club Lille last season.
There was never any realistic prospect of the Portuguese ace being reintegrated at Goodison Park, though. Even though he could add some much-needed creativity to Sean Dyche’s squad, Gomes’ time on Merseyside looks to be up.
There is certainly a financial benefit for Everton in getting Gomes off the books now. The player is currently earning around £122,000-a-week, which is not a figure that the Toffees can afford to be essentially throwing away with such regularity given the challenging current financial situation at the club.
A permanent exit is also exactly what Gomes needs. At this stage in his career, the 29-cap former Portugal international needs to be playing regularly. A departure now suits the player and the club.

How Andre Gomes will be remembered at Everton
After an impressive loan stint at Goodison Park from Barcelona in the 2018/19 season, Everton paid £22 million to sign Gomes from the Spanish giants on a permanent basis. In his early days at the club, he brought plenty of craft and guile into the middle of the park for the Toffees.
However, his career was cruelly sent off the rails when he suffered an ankle injury in November 2019. Gomes finally returned to first team action in February 2020, however, he was unable to make himself consistently influential.
In his last couple of campaigns with Everton, prior to his loan move to Ligue 1, Gomes gradually drifted down the pecking order and it is now abundantly clear that he has no place in Dyche’s plans.
