Everton’s second pre-season friendly of the summer ended in a 0-0 draw away to Bolton Wanderers.
It was by no means a classic as the travelling Everton supporters failed to even witness a goal.
Thierno Barry came closest after scoring in the first-half, but his effort was ruled out for offside.
With Seamus Coleman gone, who should become Everton’s next long-term captain?🫡
Plenty for David Moyes to work on as he takes his men back to Finch Farm ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Stoke City.

Mark Travers – 7
Had very little to do, but pulled off a smart save from a speculative effort.
Jake O’Brien – 6
It was disappointing to see Jake O’Brien pushed back out to right-back again. When will Everton finally address this issue in the market?
James Tarkowski – 7
A typical James Tarkowski performance: solid.
Jarrad Branthwaite – 7
Great to see Jarrad Branthwaite get some minutes in the tank. Solid return for the centre-back.
Adam Aznou – 5
Not quite as good of a performance as he put in last weekend. Caught a couple of times defensively, but looked keen to get forward and start attacks.
Tim Iroegbunam – 5
There can be no denying Tim Iroegbunam’s ability to win possession, but he loses the ball as quickly as he wins it.
Harrison Armstrong – 8
Comfortably Everton’s best player. Calm on the ball and a potential straight swap for Moyes as Everton are set to be without James Garner following his surgery.
Merlin Rohl – 6
Put in a great cross for Thierno Barry to convert, but the goal was chalked off for offside.

Dwight McNeil – 5
Some involvement in the game. End product was lacking for most parts.
Charly Alcaraz – 4
Charly Alcaraz’s future on Merseyside remains up in the air and he will have done himself no favours with his performance on Saturday.
Thierno Barry – 5
Plenty of effort – to his credit – but missed a golden opportunity from close range just before half-time.
Substitutions
Tom King – 7
Forced into a smart stop almost straight away after coming on.
Michael Keane – 6
Solid when he came on.
Vitalii Mykolenko – 7
Returning from paternity leave, Vitalii Mykolenko created a couple of chances after replacing Aznou.
Kiernand Dewsbury-Hall – 6
Not one of his best performances, but effort was there.
Beto – 4
Offered very little
Tyrique George – 5
Braiden Graham – N/A
Lively when he came on, but barely touched the ball.
Harvey Foster -N/A
Malik Olayiwola – N/A
George Finney – N/A
