Everton secured a 4-0 victory in their opening pre-season game against Dundee at Dens Park.

Considering the opposition’s pre-season started a few weeks ago, it was a really solid effort from Everton up in Scotland.

Beto, Thierno Barry, Harvey Foster and Dwight McNeil got their names on the scoresheet for the Toffees in what was a positive start to the new campaign.

Absolutely love this! A real classy kit for the Toffees… 🤩

Which of the two new kits are you preferring? 🤔

There were certainly some players who will have stood out for David Moyes, with some still left to answer the questions surrounding their spot in the side.

Mark Travers – 6

Took a whack and required treatment. Did not have a lot to do.

Merlin Rohl – 7

Solid in the new position of right-back. Definitely grew into the role.

Jake O’Brien – 8

Commanding header to clear a cross. He simply has to be playing at centre-back this season.

Michael Keane – 7

Solid as expected. Slightly outperformed by the dominant Jake O’Brien.

Adam Aznou – 8

This is the type of performance David Moyes would have wanted to see from his fringe players. Positive in both attack and defence.

Just focusing on Everton’s right-back search, who should the club bring in this summer and why? 🤔

From Spence, to White, to Norton-Cuffy, there have been links to so many players so far…

Harrison Armstrong – 8

Looked very sharp physically and provided the assist for Beto’s goal, with a brilliant through ball.

Tim Iroegbunam – 6

Cannot deny his efforts, but Tim Iroegbunam gave away four fouls in the opening 45 minutes.

Tyler Dibling – 4

A really frustrating first-half performance from Tyler Dibling. Slightly better in the second-half, but there is still something missing with the 20-year-old.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 8

Oozed quality and looked a threat to Dundee every time he got on the ball.

Tyrique George – 7

Perhaps a lack of quality with his final touch, but a much more promising performance from Tyrique George than it was from Dibling.

Beto – 7

Got a slice of luck with the deflection, but it was the 28-year-old who opened the scoring for the summer.

Substitutions

Tom King – 7

Had one real save to make and did well to get down low to deny Dundee.

Charly Alcaraz – 7

Plenty of effort and got an assist at the death.

James Tarkowski – 7

Solid as you’d expect.

Dwight McNeil – 7

Got his goal right at the end.

Thierno Barry – 8

A strong 30-minute display from Barry, who showed from his first minute that he was out to impress the manager.

William Tamen – 6

Calls for a Dundee penalty after a challenge from William Tamen after he came off the bench. However, made a massive challenge late on.

Braiden Graham – 5

Missed a huge opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet.

Malik Olayiwola – 5

Could have given away a penalty.

Elijah Campbell – 6

Not too heavily involved after coming on, but tidy enough.

Harvey Foster – 8

Looked right at home in the Everton midfield and took his goal incredibly well.

George Finney – 7

Whipped in a beautiful cross, but Graham was unable to finish it.
