Everton are now looking at potentially bringing in a new midfielder this summer from one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The Toffees are one of the clubs who are going into the month of June knowing they need to sell players to comply with PSR rules.

However, there could be a major boost on the horizon for Everton with Farhad Moshiri in talks over a potential new takeover deal.

Talks with 777 Partners has now seemingly collapsed following their missed deadline at the end of last month to purchase the club.

New ownership at Goodison Park could see Everton backed by a considerably wealthier group as the club get ready to move into their new stadium.

But for this summer, the Toffees are believed to be eyeing a midfielder who could demand an asking price of just €10m (£8.5m).

Everton have eyes on Juventus midfielder

There is a lot of talk surrounding what may need to be done this month in terms of player exits at Goodison Park with the PSR deadline looming.

But signings will also have to be on the agenda for Everton with the Toffees enduring their struggles for periods of the 2023/24 seaosn.

In the end, Everton escaped relegation with a comfortable cushion on Luton Town, but there were certainly periods of the campaign where it looked to be a real fight.

Stronger sides are arguably coming up in Leicester City and Southampton, so work is going to have to be done over the coming months to bolster Sean Dyche‘s squad.

According to TuttoJuve, Everton are one of the sides who could make a move for Filip Kostic this summer.

The versatile Juventus wing-back is receiving interest from the Premier League with West Ham also believed to be keen on the Serbian.

The 31-year-old is said to be on the market in Turin this summer with two years remaining on his current deal with the club.

A bid in the region of €10m (£8.5m) could be enough to prise him away from the Allianz Arena.

Where would Filip Kostic play at Everton?

Kostic is typically a wing-back who operates on the left side, however, he has shown his versatility in being able to also play further up the pitch.

The Serbian returned four assists in Serie A last season under Massimiliano Allegri’s system which sees him playing as a wing-back.

But with Everton playing a flat back four under Dyche, it would be more realistic for Kostic to arrive and play as the left-sided midfielder.

This is a player who would bring considerable experience to the Everton side having played for some big European sides and winning the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Former Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic hailed Kostic during his time in the Bundesliga labelling him “extraordinary” to the league’s website.

However, it has to be questioned whether he still has the attacking threat in front of goal to play in a side which does not use wing-backs.
