Everton find themselves battling a number of other teams for some of their transfer targets this summer.

It is proving a really competitive market for Everton to operate in, with a number of other teams eyeing the same players.

David Moyes is currently enjoying his summer break, having been spotted taking in the Club World Cup in Miami.

Everton are being backed financially, with money not being an issue for the American owners.

However, Everton have only been able to bring in one permanent signing in the opening weeks of the window with Carlos Alcaraz.

Given their contract situation, Everton are eyeing a lot of transfer additions this summer, but they are going to have to get a move on to land one of their defensive targets.

Everton target Jarell Quansah agrees move elsewhere

Everton are eyeing Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah this summer as his time on Merseyside comes under scrutiny.

Despite not playing regularly for Liverpool, Quansah has received a lot of interest from some top clubs across Europe.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the defender has now agreed to join Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool and Leverkusen are said to be in conversation over a potential deal for the 22-year-old England international.

The two clubs now hold a strong relationship with two of Leverkusen’s players having already agreed to join Liverpool this summer.

Newcastle have also shown interest in the £40m-rated Quansah, but the interest coming from the Premier League is now under real threat.

It does feel like Liverpool owe Leverkusen one, having taken two of their players this summer, but Everton were always going to face an uphill task in purchasing a player from Anfield.

Leverkusen hold the advantage over Everton in Quansah race

Dealing between Premier League sides will often see a price inflation due to the possibility of strengthening a direct rival.

In this case, Liverpool would be offering Everton a player to improve their squad.

Liverpool and Everton haven’t dealt for 33 years in the transfer market, so any deal between the pair would make real history.

The Toffees will need to add to their defence with Michael Keane leaving Everton, but it is unlikely Quansah will be that man.
