Everton receive clear Ivan Toney message as Richarlison stance shared ahead of January

Everton are going to be searching the January transfer market for an opportunity to bolster their options up front.

Despite the positive results in recent weeks, there has still been a lack of threat coming from Everton’s strikers.

David Moyes has seen just one of Everton’s 13 Premier League goals scored by a striker this season.

The 62-year-old manager is now preparing to lose his top scorer, Iliman Ndiaye, to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Everton News reported earlier this month that Everton held talks with Ivan Toney’s camp, but it was made clear that a move away from Saudi Arabia was extremely unlikely.

A number of obstacles would have to be overcome to see the Englishman make a return to his homeland.

With the January market just weeks away from opening, the stance of Al-Ahli’s new sporting director has now been shared.

What Al-Ahli are now saying about selling Ivan Toney to Everton

Everton News columnist Alan Myers is not expecting Everton to land Toney in the January transfer window.

Toney was recently left out of the latest England squad, which will mark a major blow to his hopes of playing at the World Cup.

According to TalkSPORT, there is very little hope of seeing the 29-year-old return to England as Al-Ahli do not consider the striker up for sale.

The only way in which a potential sale would be considered is if Al-Ahli could find an ‘elite’ replacement for the former Brentford man.

Ironically, the player mentioned in the report as the Al-Ahli’s top target before signing Toney is none other than Richarlison, but he did not want to move to Saudi in the summer.

Al-Ahli’s director has already shut down talk of selling Toney in January, who would also face a number of financial issues to leave before his two year tax requirement was met.

Everton may find themselves forced to look elsewhere in the window, but there is some irony in the suggestion Richarlison could hold the key to their January window.

Richarlison could prove a better signing than Toney for Everton

The Brazilian striker is having a funny old season in north London with Tottenham Hotspur.

Bring back Richarlison…

Carlo Ancelotti benched Richarlison in Brazil’s recent friendly against Senegal, but the Spurs man has responded in style.

Richarlison has now scored in his last three consecutive games for Tottenham, with goals against Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Everton News understands that Richarlison would be keen to return to Everton.

However, he is not necessarily viewed as the number one option as Thomas Frank continues to shuffle his side about.

It has been suggested that Everton would ideally like to re-sign Richarlison on an initial loan basis, with the option to buy in the summer.

With five goals in the Premier League this season, Richarlison may have become a really interesting option for the Blues again.
