Everton seeking to renegotiate Dele Alli deal

Everton are keen to renegotiate the terms of their deal to sign Dele Alli.

As reported by The Express, Everton want to open talks with Tottenham Hotspur in an attempt to change the initial terms of their deal to sign Dele Alli

The Toffees originally struck a deal with Spurs which would see them pay the north London club instalments when Alli hit certain milestones for the club.

Given Everton’s current financial situation, the Merseyside outfit are going to struggle to fulfil the terms of that agreement unless a compromise can be made between the two clubs.

If all of the add-ons included in the deal to sign Alli are met, then Everton could end up shelling out a total sum of around £40 million to Spurs.

It would be fair to say that, for various reasons, Alli is yet to live up to his price tag at Goodison Park.

Still time for Alli with Everton in tricky position

Injuries have been a major issue for the 27-year-old, and he has managed just thirteen first team appearances for Everton since his arrival at the club in January 2022.

The 37-cap England international is currently working his way back to full fitness and is yet to feature for the club this season. However, Sean Dyche will recognise that Alli is a huge talent. If he can get back to his best he has the capacity to be a star for the Toffees and could have a transformative impact on their campaign.

It would be brilliant to see Alli fit and firing again in the Premier League. It is not too late for him to make his switch to Everton a success.

However, unless Everton are able to successfully renegotiate the terms of their deal with Spurs then they could quickly find themselves in a position where they lose out if Alli recovers his best form, and lose out if he continues to struggle.
