Everton’s season, which has actually been one of great progression, continues to be blighted by matters outside of their control.
Whether it be 777 Partners’ unrelenting and unsuccessful takeover, or the Premier League’s unbothered outlook on punishing the Toffees, Sean Dyche has been forced to navigate some impossibly tough circumstances.
However, they remain afloat for now, but something has to change sooner or later before the worst comes to fruition.
Fortunately, pressure does seem to be ramping up on Farhad Moshiri, as the only one who can really enact meaningful change at the moment.
That is only set to intensify in the coming weeks.
Everton shareholder sends takeover message to Farhad Moshiri
Having penned a letter to the Everton ownership group just yesterday, John Blain, a lone shareholder and vice-chair of the group, felt like more needed to be said.
And in speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside, he used this platform to issue a plea to Moshiri ahead of this week’s meeting amongst the other shareholders.

He would note: ‘We are scheduled to meet the club next Monday, so it’d be really helpful for Farhad Moshiri to attend that meeting and tell us why he thinks these guys are the right people.’
That meeting could prove pivotal should he make a rare and shocking appearance, as at last we would get some clarity on a situation that has completely clouded an otherwise positive season for Dyche.
Farhad Moshiri needs to speak to Everton fans
For years now, one of the outstanding complaints that Evertonians have had with Moshiri is his lack of communication.
Frustration only grew when he would use talkSPORT’s Jim White as a mouthpiece for revealing vital information rather than just going through the club’s official channels.
He would make great strides in this regard with a string of open letters, but those have been few and far between throughout this process of selling this club.
His desire to leave has been well-documented, but his desperation to sell to just 777 Partners is completely inexplicable.
Surely there are alternative investors out there willing to offer similar fees, who would actually place Everton into the custody of a safer long-term owner?

Moshiri does need to come out and speak to Evertonians, just to explain the thoughts behind his intent to offload to the first party that showed interest. It has been eight months now, and something positive has to happen soon.
