Everton are now looking to add to their defence this summer having already brought in a midfielder and forward.
Sean Dyche‘s side made a stunning end to the 2023/24 campaign which steered them comfortably away from the relegation scrap.
The Toffees have already added striker Iliman Ndiaye and midfielder Tim Iroegbunam over recent weeks ahead of the new campaign.
But now it may be time to turn the attention to the defensive options at Goodison Park considering Ben Godfrey departed for Atalanta.
And it seems as if Everton have now made their move to enquire about one potential option who impressed at the Copa America this summer.

Everton make inquiry for Copa America centre-back
Considering where Everton ended up last season, defence was not an issue for the Toffees.
In fact, Everton’s defence was without doubt their strong suit last season with the top three conceding fewer goals than Dyche’s side (51).
But the Toffees are going to have to add numbers to their squad following the departure of Godfrey last month.
Although the Englishman wasn’t exactly the first-choice option for Dyche, having quality to rotate and cover any injuries could be crucial to Everton’s success.

According to Versus, Everton are showing an interest in the Getafe centre-back Omar Alderete following his performances at Copa America.
The Paraguayan defender made the permanent move to the Spanish outfit just last summer from Hertha Berlin in a deal worth around £3m.
However, there is the belief that La Liga side Sevilla are also keen on the 27-year-old and are in a position to make a formal offer.
Omar Alderete impressed at Copa America 2024
This summer’s Copa America was not one to remember for Paraguay as they bowed out of the competition following the group stages.
Bowing out is probably too kind of a phrase; Paraguay crashed out having lost all three of their games.
However, Alderete’s displays were something which can be taken from the tournament with the Getafe defender scoring in their defeat against Brazil .
And what a goal it was, too. If Alderete could bring that type of technique to Merseyside this summer then Everton could land themselves a seriously exciting player.
