Everton are still determined to seal a deal for Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto.

Everton have just agreed the signing of winger Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds United. The Toffees are now preparing to raid the Yorkshire club once again to get their hands on Wilfried Gnonto, according to the Daily Mail.

Sean Dyche has been pursuing Gnonto throughout the summer, and it is clear that the player is desperate to make the move to Goodison Park. Gnonto is currently trying to force his way out of Elland Road, and has refused to play for the Championship club.

Leeds are reluctant to let the talented 19-year-old go, but may have their hand forced if they aren’t able to resolve their conflict with the player themselves. Everton find themselves in a strong position to take advantage of this disharmony and get a deal done.

Gnonto would complete Everton’s attacking transformation

Gnonto would be a statement signing for the Toffees. The 11-cap Italy international is a prodigious talent who lit up the Premier League at times last season. He made 24 appearances in the top flight, scoring twice, and dazzling with his speed and skill on occasions. Given his age, he is only going to get better, and he could be a star on Merseyside for years to come.

Sean Dyche is making a concerted effort to add more cutting edge to his squad this summer. The arrivals of Harrison, Arnaut Danjuma, and Youssef Chermiti should all serve to make Everton a far more potent attacking force this time around.

Gnonto would represent the most exciting acquisition of the lot, if Everton can get a deal with Leeds over the line.

The player’s exit, along with Harrison’s departure, would be a huge blow to Leeds’ hopes of securing promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. However, they do stand to make a healthy profit on the youngster they paid just £3.8 million for last summer.
