Everton’s proposed takeover at the hands of 777 Partners is one which has been far from smooth sailing, facing setback after setback in their bid to assume full control of the club.
As one of England’s most historic and storied sides, despite recent history having been unkind to the Toffees, it is no surprise that they are a huge draw for the Miami-based firm seeking to add a Premier League side to their multi-club model.
However, it seems like their desperation has seen them perhaps overestimate their ability to actually cough up the funds, despite receiving FA approval to become club directors.
As such, journalist Paul Brown has offered his views on the matter, speaking to GIVEMESPORT on the current climate of the deal.

He noted, when asked about how David Dein’s new involvement might help the process: ‘He is at least someone who knows all of the people involved, and they think will be able to pave the way for the takeover to be approved.
‘I think it is still fraught with difficulty for them and I think their finances and being able to provide the right documentation for the regulatory bodies to get this signed off is a problem for various reasons. So I think it’s still up in the air and I’ve been told that the chances are less than 50/50 of it going through at the moment.’
Will 777 Partners become Everton’s owners?
Whilst it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Josh Wander and his partners would assume control of Everton after they agreed a £500m deal, they could not possibly have envisioned that they would face so many hurdles in their bid.
After all, whilst people first drew into question the legitimacy of how they made their reported $12bn (£9.63bn) fortune, it has more recently been argued that they are not even in possession of the funds to buy the club.
As such, even a mystery Indian alternative has since appeared, ready to swoop in should proceedings fail, only ramping up the pressure on 777 Partners.

To predict whether they will earn success in their attempted takeover has become an impossible job, made even more difficult by recent events.
However, what is certain is that they have a deal struck with Moshiri, and just await the Premier League’s verdict on their legitimacy as owners. Should they find no issue, then all the scrutiny surrounding them will be cast aside.
