Everton are in need of further firepower in the summer transfer window.

The work done by David Moyes since he returned to Merseyside in January has been impressive, but even he is coming up against some limitations.

Over the last four games, Everton have only been able to provide a return of just three goals.

However, this is something the Friedkins are well aware of and Everton are keen to sign a new striker when the summer window opens.

This will be first real opportunity for the American billionaire to offer his support for his 61-year-old manager in the market.

But the Toffees are already seeing competition arise from one of their Premier League rivals for a striker on their radar.

Everton facing Manchester United competition for Lorenzo Lucca

Late last month, Everton News shared the interest coming from Everton in Lorenzo Lucca.

The 6ft 7″ striker would certainly provide the Toffees with something different in what would be a real throwback to Moyes’ first stint with midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

However, according to GiveMeSport, Everton are receiving some competition from Manchester United for the Udinese striker.

The Red Devils will not rule out the possibility of a move for the Italy international, but he is not a player who matches their profile.

Currently, Everton are proving the more viable option for Lucca, with United failing to narrow down the giant striker as a priority for the summer.

Everton are expected to lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin and they are likely to send Armando Broja back to Chelsea following a difficult loan spell.

With this in mind, the £25m-rated striker could prove the ideal start to the summer window for the Blues.

Lucca could become first Bramley-Moore Dock signing for Everton

The striker could become a real piece of Everton history ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton are keen to make a statement signing this summer, with the likes of Richarlison being linked with a move.

There has been more positive news for the Toffees with AC Milan pulling out of the race to sign the 24-year-old.

It is claimed Everton are ‘threatening’ to make Lucca their first summer signing and he is certainly an addition that wouldn’t go unnoticed.
