Tony Cascarino has warned Liverpool that Everton could genuinely finish above them come the end of the 2025/26 season.
It was a great weekend for the Toffees, as they thumped Chelsea 3-0 at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
David Moyes’ side produced one of their best performances of the season, and made life incredibly difficult for their opponents throughout.
Surely everyone is Moyes in now? 🤔
It was the kind of display Evertonians have been waiting for at Hill Dickinson.
The result means Everton now have 46 points, meaning the club are just three behind Liverpool who lost against Brighton on Saturday.
With the Reds now looking over their shoulder, pundit Tony Cascarino has suggested Liverpool should be worried with Everton in the ascendency.
Tony Cascarino thinks Toffees could now genuinely finish above Liverpool

Cascarino was speaking on TalkSPORT yesterday when he suggested that Everton have a genuine chance to finish above Liverpool.
Praising the job Moyes has done, he insisted: “Do you know what? I wouldn’t be surprised if Everton finish higher than Liverpool. I’m not being disrespectful to Everton, they have got more points in the Premier League in 26 than Liverpool. There’s only a one point difference but Everton have 18 and Liverpool have 17.
“Everton didn’t have a squad even close to Liverpool at the start of the season! We’d have sat here and gone ‘Do you know what Everton might topple Liverpool’ and Liverpool are in front at the moment and might well end up (finishing higher).
“But even to consider a race between the two of them… Everton have done brilliant! And David Moyes has done an incredible job at dragging his team, going into, by the way, a new stadium.
“Yes, they’ve not had European football, but I’m looking at Everton and thinking, they could finish in front of Liverpool.”
When Everton last finished above Liverpool
There is still a long way to go for Everton to finish above Liverpool, but Moyes has the team in brilliant spot right now and it could genuinely happen.
And of course, Everton’s next game is actually against Liverpool, which will be an opportunity to go level on points.

If Everton win, that would give a golden opportunity to finish above the Reds, which last happened at the end of the 2012/13 season, which was Moyes’ final year in charge before he left for Manchester United.
With Liverpool having been so erratic this season, there will surely be added motivation for Everton to finish this season in the strongest possible way.
Getting European football and also finishing above Liverpool would be truly amazing.
